If you're considering fishing in Kona in the summer months,  book early. The summer months are our busiest since most of our annual marlin tournaments are scheduled between late June and mid August.

While several Kona fishing tournaments are geared for experienced fishermen who can angle the fish under IGFA rules, there are also Jungle Rules tournaments geared toward the not-so-experienced angler. Either way, tournaments are fun, with a chance to win a few bucks. If you're considering  entering a tournament during your stay here in Kona, here is a list of Kona Fishing Tournaments to choose from. Please note that while I try to keep this list as complete and accurate as possible, I may have missed one, and/or the Kona tournament schedule and entry fees may have been adjusted without my knowledge. My best advise is to consult with Captain Dale Leverone. Let him know when you are coming and that you are interested in competing in a tournament, and he will be able to advise you accordingly. The Captain can answer any  questions you may have, get you the entry form of your choice and assist in getting your team entered for the event of your choice.
