Food & Supplies

Sea Strike provides all tackle and bait, ice, ice chests, captain and crew. Anglers need only bring food and beverages for the day, plus personal items such as sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera and so on. Sea-sickness medicines are generally not needed, although some people are susceptible even here. Plan on a sunburn if you’re not careful.

Fishing Areas

Kona is famous for its calm water and near-shore fishing. kona fishing. All species of game fish often range only two to five miles offshore, but can run 10-15 miles and still be in sheltered waters. Both live bait and trolled lures are used. Deep sea fishing is a great way for non-angling family members or friends to spend the day with a spectacular view of the Kona coastline and a variety of sea life to enjoy, including whales, dolphins, turtles and occasional creatures such as the ocean moonfish (Opah).

Despite world record and tournament success, Sea Strike is one of Kona’s most affordable charter fishing boats. Owned and operated by Capt. Dale Leverone, Sea Strike is not a corporate yacht run by hired hands.The Sea Strike is able to keep their rates low because they sell their fish to the market. The fish income helps to offset the prices of the Sea Strike’s charter rates. The captain, however, is happy to cut one fish under 25 pounds for the charter. Just let him know that you would like some to eat.
